Ben Probe is a server at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in downtown San Diego and a Craft beer buyer/Inventory Manager for Craftshack.com. In addition to his day and night jobs, he is also an adjunct professor for SDSU’s craft beer and wine Business programs where he teaches a course entitled :Beer and Wine Service and Selling. With Over 10 years in the restaurant/hospitality industry as well as a business degree from SDSU, his Level 2 Sommelier Credential in the Court of Master Sommeliers, Certified Cicerone, and Certified Specialist of Spirits, Ben is always looking for new and innovative roles to take in the world of beverages.
Ben began his journey into beverages in 2013 where he entered into the SDSU business of wine and the newly formed business of craft beer program. As the first student to hold both professional certificates, he designed the first and only crossover course for both programs.
Today, Ben is looking to take his experience to the next level by designing more courses for SDSU (including an entire spirits and liquors curriculum), as well as studying for the WSET level 3 and Certified Sake Sommelier certifications.
