Currently the Regional Manager for Broadbent Selections, Chris was born in Santiago, Chile and spent his first 18 years living in Chile, Singapore, and Brazil, having the good fortune of traveling the globe before coming to the U.S. In 1988. While attending college at Carnegie Mellon, Chris started in the food & beverage business in 1989. Living and working in Los Angeles since 1998 he has been entrenched in the southern California restaurant and wine industry since. An Advanced Sommelier (working toward veraison) in addition to a member of the Society of Wine Educators ~ in 2007, passed the Certified Specialists of Wine (CSW) exam and in 2008 the more rigorous Certified Wine Educator (CWE).

Co-founder of Lavech and the founder of Insiders Wine Guide, which specializes in wine education, luxury travel in addition to wine list development, inventory management, events and marketing. Both companies have taken Chris all over the world helping round out his international presence. His resume speaks for itself – a background in some of the top Los Angeles restaurants – as Wine Director and General Manager/Director of Operations – and top wine educator. He has offered his expertise and experience to numerous wine and training programs in the greater Los Angeles and with SOPEXA more recently. Chris is an accomplished wine taster and cocktail enthusiast.
