Domenica grew up in a very small town in Northern California, between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. The first wine she tasted with her parents was a big bold Old Vine Zinfandel from Amador County, just about 20 minutes from where they lived.
She attended college at California State University, Long Beach, and graduated with a degree in Child Development and Family Studies in December of 2011.
Shortly after moving down to San Diego, Domenica got a job as a server at the Estancia La Jolla Resort & Spa in their fine dining dinner restaurant, introducing her to the much smaller, much more detailed side of hospitality. After two years, she got a job at the new restaurant Eddie V’s as a server, which quickly cemented her love and passion for this industry.
Six months after being hired, she became a trainer, and three months after that Domenica was made a shift supervisor. She was officially promoted to manager in November of 2015, overseeing bar, host, and training operations, as well as all necessary updates and changes to the wine list.
In May, Domenica received her level one sommelier certification by CMS in Orlando, Florida. She is greatly looking forward to continuing her education in wine service and hospitality in order to better serve all her guests and employees.
