Jann Cotter spends her time crisscrossing the country with her team of Master Sommeliers conducting wine events, tasting seminars and wine sales education. The audience varies from distributors, to the trade and wine aficionados. The end result is learning how wine can be an integral part of life’s enjoyment and increase sales.
The passion for wine began when Jann began working with a high-end produce company. She developed a keen sense of smell early on by understanding how certain aromas directly related to wine. Additionally by having the opportunity to work in restaurants throughout college opened the door to experiencing world- class wines. Jann received invaluable experience in sales by first working for a wine broker in San Diego and then becoming a wine buyer and store manager for a progressive retailer.
In 1992, Jann met wine pioneer, Jess Jackson, who was a visionary that shaped the California wine landscape. Jann has been an integral part of the Jackson Family’s amazing growth which now stands at forty-four wineries, spanning five continents. Her tenure has been rewarding; she was the California Key Account Sales Manager, Western Region Crown Divisional Manager, implemented direct to consumer luxury marketing designed to penetrate the “One Percent Club” and spearheaded a very successful college recruitment program. Presently, Jann is the Vice President for the JFW National Wine Sales and Education team.
Jann is a Certified Wine Educator, Certified Sommelier and Certified Wine Specialist. When she’s not kicking the dirt in a vineyard, look for a dust trail behind her mountain bike or Harley!
