Luke McCollom’s passion for wine stemmed from his first job in a winery at the age of 15. He spent most of his time there polishing its collection of vintage cars but when it got busy he'd help pick grapes, barrel or work the bottling line. He graduated from California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo with a B.S in Fruit Science and a minor in Wine and Viticulture. After college, Luke managed vineyards for Napa Valley’s Harlan Estate and Meridian Vineyards in Paso Robles. He also helped found the Central Coast Vineyard Team (now Vineyard Team) – a sustainable agriculture group. Luke came to Left Coast Cellars in 2003 with a dream of producing hand crafted Pinot Noir. He worked hard with the owners to develop vineyards that produce excellent wines that speak of this special place. Luke passed head winemaker duties on to Joe Wright in 2011. As General Manager, Luke is involved in all aspects of Left Coast Cellars and has helped build Left Coast Cellars into the world class operation it is today.
