Rosaura immigrated to the United States in 1972 at very young aged. Her father, Don Enrique Segura, started coming to the United States as a Bracero when he was a newly married young man in 1944. He used to take her and her brother to the field when he was working the vineyards at Charles Krug, his job at that time. Rosaura wanted to pick grapes but Don Enrique always said that was not a job for a girl.
She is a philanthropic woman who has focused on helping the Napa Valley farm worker migrant community. Rosaura Segura Immigration Service, Inc has been serving the community since 1988. In 2008 Rosaura launched Encanto Vineyards along with her then husband and partner. She continues to supervise El Retoῆo, her 20 acre vineyard of Sauvignon Blanc that sources grapes to prestigious companies. Oh yeah, and she is picking her own grapes!
