She goes by Sam, but Samantha will certainly do. This undeniably extroverted optimist began her adventure with wine 4 years ago after quitting her corporate life as an Interior Designer. After completing the Advanced Level 3 WSET course, she traveled to McLaren Vale, Australia to work for Mollydooker wines in multiple roles, including making the wine as a Cellar Hand and as an asset of their renowned Marketing team. Since returning, she has been the Sommelier of a wine bar in Downtown Santa Ana, and is currently the resident sommelier at Yves’ Restaurant & Wine Bar in Anaheim Hills, Ca.
Sam has a passion for people, food and writing and created Sam(the)Somm as a platform for doing her two most favorite things: educating folks in discovering their own palates, and writing articles that help make wine approachable. What drives her is witnessing the “ah-ha” moments people have when they love a wine they thought they’d hate, and her ultimate desire is to be nothing but faithful to Jesus Christ and give thanks for all He enables this life to hold on the daily.
