Skip Coomber serves as a retained advisor to centimillionaires and billionaires and is a lifetime entrepreneur with a legal and investment background. Mr. Coomber was the founding partner of a law firm, which had offices in San Diego and downtown Los Angeles, California, representing business owners, investors and high net worth families. Subsequently, for over a decade, he ran a Family Office, managing the investments, finances, business and personal affairs (“Jets to Pets”) of one family, and currently represents other families. In addition, Mr. Coomber is co-founder and was President of 1800Medicine, Inc., a start-up company which is a provider of medical services and products to the Medicare population. He was also the Chairman and CEO of HEROware, Inc., a technology company that provides protection to Small and Medium Businesses from the failure of their Microsoft servers. Currently, Mr. Coomber is the General Counsel and a board member of Elevated.com, an internet marketing company.
Skip has investments in the hedge fund, venture capital, private equity, real estate and wine industries (Terravant, Inc. custom crush facility). He and his wife have their own wine company, COOMBER FAMILY RANCH (95 Wine Enthusiast Rated), and its wine can be found in California and Utah restaurants, resorts and wine stores. Skip regularly speaks around the world at various investment and family office conferences. He has enjoyed a full career in the business and investment worlds, including sitting on the Board and Audit Committee of a public corporation (NASDAQ-Big Dog Holdings, Inc., subsequently, The Walking Company Holdings, Inc.). He also served as one of nine trustees on the now $11 billion San Diego County pension fund, in addition to serving as a member of the Investment Advisory Board of The San Diego Foundation. Mr. Coomber has served on the boards of many charitable corporations, including the Feeding America San Diego Food Bank, The San Diego Blood Bank Foundation, The Exceptional Children’s Foundation (for “At Risk” children), The Stevens Cancer Division of the Scripps Health Foundation, and the Envision Foundation Board of Directors, a Wichita, Kansas-based, multi-faceted non-profit organization serving the sight-impaired worldwide through scientific research; training and certification of professionals that care for the blind; and employing over 100 sight-impaired individuals in Wichita, KS to produce business cards for the CIA and over 3.2 million plastic bags every 24-hours.
He resides in San Diego, California, with his wife, Maureen, and their two daughters, Amelia (19) and Caroline (17).
