Discovering Wines of Lake County

Seminar Description

Join Master Sommelier Robert Bath for an in-depth session on the unique terroir of the Lake County winegrowing region, known as the Mountains of California’s North Coast. With the Mayacama Range in the west and Vaca Range in the southeast, most of the region’s vineyards are planted at elevations between 1,300 and 3,000 feet in some of the youngest volcanic soils in California. Robert’s presentation will focus on the distinct characteristics of this high-elevation winegrowing region, including the influence of altitude, sunlight, and lake effect wind. Discover the region’s AVAs and explore its key varietals.
