The History of Wine: Pangaea to Pasteur

Seminar Description

From the Kvevri wine vessel just unearthed in Georgia that has been dated to more than 8500 years ago, to selling wine today. Knowing the History of Wine drives our passion and can inform our narrative in the wine industry. A totally new, updated and hilarious romp through 200 million years of grapevine and wine history with stops in Trans-Caucuses, Egypt, Armenia, Rome, Greece, the Middle Ages, even Colonial America! This seminar finishes with how wine 'invented' modern science--Pasteur's Germ Theory and Gutenberg's printing press (made from a repurposed wine press!)
