Ripeness and Aging of Red Grape Varieties in Loire Valley

Seminar Description

Come join us to learn about the determining factors of ripeness of the red grapes in the region. Discover the physiologic knowledge on the plant, terroirs, harvesting choices, growing and wine-making practices. Enjoy tasting the diversity of aromatic and tannic expressions of the famous appellations such as Chinon, Sancerre, Saumur, Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil and many more.

The Loire Valley, referred to as the Garden of France, is known for its magnificent chateaux, rich history and for its wine diversity. The wine-growing regions feature no less than 4,000 wineries, 170,000 acres of vineyards and 61 appellations of origin, thus making the Loire Valley the third largest French wine making region – be they red, rosé or white; still or sparkling; dry or semi-dry; supple or sweet.
