Maurice DiMarino

Maurice DiMarino is a native to San Diego and worked for 10 years in the San Francisco restaurant industry. During his time in San Francisco, he travelled around the world gaining a greater appreciation of different cultures epicurean arts. Today he is the beverage director for the Cohn Restaurant Group and oversees wine, beer, and spirits programs for 24 restaurants in San Diego, Long Beach and Maui.
Maurice is a certified sommelier, certified cicerone® and CRT certified in Tequila. When he is not training, hosting events, and creating programs, he is teaching several of the wine intensive courses at the Business of Wine Program at San Diego State University.
He also judges wine and spirits Sommelier Challenge, Ramona Vintners Association Wine Competition, International Bulk Wine and Spirits San Francisco Show and Toast of the Coast wine and spirits competitions, and the Concours d’Spirits at Somm Con. He is the chief spirits judge for the San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge.

Maurice has presented and is frequently called to be a panelist at beverage conventions around the United States including Somm Con, Bulk Wine Show, Wine & Spirit Summit, Bev Con, Bar & Restaurants Expo, VIBE Conference. He sits on the advisory council for Somm Con and VIBE.
Maurice has written for several of San Diego’s major publications, but most enjoys writing his blog, Maurice’s Wine Cru.
