Alex Tsui is currently completing his dual doctoral degrees in Biochemistry between Oxford University, UK, and the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA. Concurrent to his scientific endeavor, Alex completed the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines (with Distinction, top 1%) in 2022, instructed by Peter Neptune MS. Alex also received the Sandeman Port Prize from Sogrape, for his outstanding performance in the Fortified Wines exam of the Diploma. In 2020, Alex represented Oxford University at the annual varsity blind wine tasting match against Cambridge. The competition is sponsored by Pol Roger and adjudicated by leading wine professionals in the UK, including Jancis Robinson OBE MW. Alex is also a Sommelier of Sake (International Kikisake-shi) by the Sake Service Institute (SSI) in Japan.
