My name is Thomas Grey Cushman and I am honored to be attending this year’s Sommcon. I began my career working harvest internships in Napa, Western Australia, Oregon, and New Zealand. Shortly thereafter, I transitioned into the sales side of the industry working for Constantine Wines Inc in Washington D.C, and most recently the Clubs at Houston Oaks in Houston, TX. Before deciding to pursue a career as a Sommelier, I attended the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque. I studied business and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. Shortly thereafter, I completed the UC Davis Continuing Professional Education program where I earned a Winemaking Certificate. Most Recently, I achieved the WSET level III award in wines. In my career thus far, I have gained useful skills and insights in the wine industry. I am eager to explore a new market and create long-lasting relationships in order to grow my network of wine industry contacts.
