We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, your choices, and your rights under applicable U.S. privacy laws. It applies to the SommCon website and any digital property we control. It does not apply to websites and services we do not own or operate.
Use of Likeness & Voice
Attendee authorizes Fast Forward Events and World of Wine Events (F2E + WOWE) events – including, but not limited to, Creator Live, San Diego Food + Wine Festival, SommCon Conference & Beverage Expo, Tasting & Tap Room Expo, and Craft Beverage Conference & Beverage Expo – and anyone authorized by them, to retouch or alter any photographs taken of the event Participant and use them, in whole or in part, with or without the Participant’s name, signature, and/or other identification, in any and all media, for advertising or commercial purposes, and to claim and register their copyright in same. The Participant releases the Event and its employees, directors, officers, agents, successors, and assigns from any and all liability arising from such use.
Registering for the Event constitutes consent to use your image in future promotional materials and media coverage.
Collection of Data
We collect:
Information you voluntarily provide (e‑mail, phone, postal address, purchase details entered through our registration partner Swoogo, survey answers).
Transactional and customer‑relationship data stored in our enterprise CRM, Zoho One, including order history, customer service interactions, and event preferences.
Payment card details processed securely via PCI‑compliant gateways; we do not store full card numbers.
Analytics and device data via cookies and similar technologies (IP address, browser type, pages viewed). Tools used include Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Zoho SalesIQ (chat & on‑site analytics), Meta Pixel, and Navistone direct‑mail pixel.
Information from social media or other platforms when you interact with us there.
We combine the information noted above to improve attendee experience and marketing relevance.
Use of Data
We use Data to:
Provide and personalize conference services.
Process ticket purchases and registrations.
Send promotional messages on behalf of SommCon sponsors and partners. We do not share or sell your contact details or other personally identifiable information (“PII”) with those sponsors; communications are sent by SommCon only.
Compile aggregate, de‑identified demographic and economic‑impact statistics for internal analytics, sponsorship decks, and required reports to stakeholders.
Deliver cross‑device advertising and direct‑mail pieces that may interest you.
Comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and protect the Event, attendees, and the public.
We will not disclose Data to third parties except:
With your consent (opt‑in/opt‑out mechanisms).
To trusted service providers acting on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.
When required by law or to protect legal rights.
We may share aggregate, de‑identified reports that do not identify individual attendees with sponsors and civic partners.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, provided the successor entity honors this Policy.
Marketing & Advertising Technologies
We use the following technologies to understand and improve marketing performance:
Google Analytics 4 / GA4 – website analytics.
Google Tag Manager – tag orchestration; no PI retained.
Meta Pixel – ad measurement & retargeting on Meta platforms.
Zoho SalesIQ – live‑chat widget & on‑site analytics.
Navistone Pixel – matches online visitors to direct‑mail addresses for event mailings.

These third parties may set their own cookies or use device identifiers. Their collection and use of information is governed by their respective privacy policies. You can opt out via Cookie Preferences (see below), browser settings, the Digital Advertising Alliance opt‑out tool, or by enabling the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.
We sometimes share hashed e‑mail addresses or device IDs with ad networks solely to deliver ads for SommCon. We do not provide those partners with raw PII.

Data Retention & Security
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy—such as providing services, completing financial reporting, meeting regulatory or tax obligations, resolving disputes, or enforcing agreements—or for any longer period required by law or covered by your explicit consent.
When information is no longer required, we securely delete, anonymize, or aggregate it so that it can no longer be associated with an identifiable individual.
We safeguard data using encryption in transit and at rest, role‑based access controls, periodic access reviews, and stringent vendor due‑diligence.
