Onyx Cly-Peek is the Assistant Manager at Grande River Vineyards in Palisade, Colorado. She was born on the Navajo Nation in Tuba City, Arizona. She graduated in 2012 with a Visual Art Administration Degree from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction where she resides.

 

She began her career in sales of liquor, wine and various forms of entertainment as a sales representative/brand ambassador. After meeting an owner of a local winery she became Sales Manager at Grande River Vineyards and honed her skills with the wines of Colorado.

 

Throughout her career, Onyx has worked to gain education in her industry and beyond. She’s received various scholarships that paid for her WSET certifications as well as a trip with Field Blends, through Mayam + Company. She’s also currently finishing up a program with the Colorado Tourism Leadership Program to improve her skills as a leader. She attends her region’s conference called VinCO every year to stay up to date with the Grand Valley AVA. She is also a member of CAVE, Colorado Association of Viticulture and Enology, where she has received scholarships to help pay for wine education.

 

In Onyx’s free time she enjoys spending it with her 4 year old son doing various sports and activities like tee ball, soccer, riding bikes, and volleyball. She enjoys doing art projects and has been commissioned to do murals all around the Grand Valley. All in all she delights in her family, hospitality, art, and bringing people together.
