Chanelle Wilson
Chanelle Wilson fell in love with wine while living in South Africa. Through the years, sharing a bottle with her friends became a social highlight. By training, Chanelle is an Assistant Professor of Education, at Bryn Mawr College. At all times, she is also an educator, social justice activist, and a wine enthusiast at her core. In 2021, she envisioned The Wine Down PHL which will eventually be wine garden & bar that combines her love for wine, education, and inclusion. The Wine Down brings the magic of quality Black- and woman-owned wine to busy professionals, intentionally highlighting Black- and woman-owned wine brands to address the existing gap in the national and global wine industry. Chanelle has achieved WSET Level 2 Certification with distinction and is now a WSET Level 3 Candidate. She is a proud Roots Fund scholar and an African American Vintners Association and Napa Valley Wine Academy scholarship recipient. Chanelle is excited to bring her passion and excitement to the wine scene in Philadelphia and looks forward to opening a wine bar in the near future.
