Eric Aracil

Associate Manager of European Garnacha Grenache Quality Wines

Born into a wine-growing family in a small village situated in the heart of the Aspres region, Eric Aracil has always lived in Roussillon. After graduating high school, this rugby-loving native son naturally went on to pursue university studies in biology, agriculture and finally, oenology. Eric began his career at the age of 21, as a consulting oenologist at the Fourquet Laboratory. He held this position for five years until shifting gears to become a wine educator at the Centre de Formation Agricole in Perpignan. In 1996, his first love having caught up with him, Eric once again took on the role of oenologist, this time within the trade association known as the Groupement Interprofessionnel des Côtes du Roussillon et Côtes du Roussillon Villages, where he also managed all export market programs. In 2000, he was named Export Manager of the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins du Roussillon, and Co-director in 2017.

Nowadays, Eric has more than 20 years of experience in wine export, and more than 30 years of experience in everything related to the vine and to wine. It is an expertise that he puts to use on a daily basis for the benefit of the Roussillon’s companies, and shares with professionals and wine-loving consumers when he speaks in public. He is also the associated coordinator project of the European Garnacha-Grenache program.
